The reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars is because when i entered the restaurant I was not greeted by a host at all. The other reason is that some of the dishes weren't as hot I thought they would be. Some were mildly cold. Overall though the food was good and the atmosphere wasn't so bad.

We came here since the wait at sushi miyage was too long. I think we ordered the wrong dishes since they were only okay and pretty much every table around us was ordering lobster or other seafood dishes. We got the pork with string beans and chicken with mushroom. I liked the jalapenos in the pork dish and thought it made it better, without it, I don't think I would have liked it very much. There wasn't enough pork in the dish and was also too oily. The chicken dish didn't have any flavor to it despite it having a brown sauce. The slices of chicken breast were large enough and thin. The broccoli was fresh. I need to come back and try seafood for sure.

It is an awful place to eat. If you try the siu mai, you can tell those have been frozen for days and served repeatedly to customers when they can't sell them. I had chance to walk to kitchen because I didn't know the restroom was outside. Normally, all the restaurants have restrooms inside. Just check the kitchen, how disgusting it is. I don't understand why food sanitation didn't go to check this place. Also, there are illegal immigrants working there.

The shrimp in the har gau tasted terrible like it was not cooked all the way. The siu mai was also terrible. The law bok gau was very soggy. Only thing good was the jasmine tea. Did not want anything else after that. BTW, watch the food bill as i was overcharged $5.00

My sister ordered for us so I didn't have any real say in the choices but she ordered a full spread. We got the peking duck (came with small puff pancakes, cucumbers, green onion, and hoison sauce), Very Tastey! Sesame Chicken was cooked nicely and the sweet and sour chicken was very very good! Rice was typical and dumplings were so so. I'd go back and try the seafood next time.

Man this place is pretty horrible...Just like Dim Sum King, I feel the yelp reviews are overrated for this place. The tea is the only thing here better than Dim Sum King, and even then only by a bit.Came here early at 10am, right when they open their doors, and the place was empty. This for me, is never a good sign as back in SF people line up out the door for good dim sum places. Well, still me and my gf bravely sat down and had a small menu placed in front of us.It was a small menu. Not only that, the selection was pretty horrible, and some of our usual standbys such as seared chive dumplings, fried glutinous dumplings, and others were not on the menu (minus 1 star!).The service was ok, and we ordered the sui mai, har gow, shrimp rice roll, seared chive roll, pork spareribs and chicken feet. The sui mai and har gow were ok, but really really cold, and not fresh at all (gross!). The shrimp rice roll was ok, but really loose, and the shrimp were small. The pork spareribs tasted like bell pepper, and nothing else, and were too fatty, and there was too much corn starch with the chicken feet. Ergo, the food was pretty horrible. The ambiance is nice here though, with nice red covers on the chairs, and it looks pretty clean. But, I don't like the cheap plastic tablecloths all over the tables. And yea, the chili sauce on the table was just bitter, no spiciness. (minus 1 star)Pros: The ambiance is nice, and the service decentCons: Just about everything else, cold food, bad chili sauce at the table, and small dim sum selection

Before I get into why I won't be returning to this restaurant, let me start with how good the food was today. The lobster and dim sum (ha gao, siu mai, fung jao, taro cake, beef ball) were delicious. It was definitely made better than most places outside of Houston. However, what made this a terrible experience was the ridiculously shady service my family and I got here. We came to eat lunch, not dinner. Granted, there were six of us at the table, the waitress serving us had the audacity to charge us 20% gratuity to our bill!! Ridiculous! She also stated that we were required to pay 17% gratuity, given our large group. I mean, come on lady, you charged us for more than 17%! We asked for the manager, who was even more shady! He backed up the waitress by saying that there was supposed to be a sign posted up in the restaurant stating that we were required to pay 15% gratuity, but that he recently posted down the sign and intended on reposting it back up. Really?! How convenient of him to do it today. Anyway, we really shouldn't have paid them any tip at all. But, we left 15% gratuity. That being said, we will never come back here because of the dishonest service we got today.

I've been there twice, and the tables I've sat at have been dirty both times. I gave them a pass the first time, figuring it was an oversight. Today, the glass on the lazy susan for our large table was just gross. The furniture and arrangement also leaves a lot to be desired. Today our table was wobbly. The large tables are also very close to each other, with chairs bumping into each other. The food and service are fine. They come by frequently with water and the carts. It's just that when they can't be bothered to clean tables that everyone can see, you wonder what hygiene standards are followed behind closed doors in the kitchen.

Uhhh what the hell happened to this place?!I walked in and this Chinese girl saw me and didn't even greet me or anything. Just took a look at me and walk off doing her business. Yes of course I would like to see the menu if I am not getting dim sum. What? Lunch special doesn't come with egg rolls and soup? Why didn't you tell me before I ordered it? By the way, ordered 2 lunch specials to go and when I got the bag, stupid girl tells me it doesn't come with egg roll and soup if taken to go?! WHAT?! Where does it say that on the menu? Anyways, the owner lady had to clear it up andTold me that only the English side of the menu has egg roll and soup.I really would have given it 1 star if the owner had not clarified things up. The cashier/hostess girl whatever she is, really need to learn some people skills. I mean, hello! We are the ones helping pay your paycheck nothing else matters when we step through that door! Maybe I'll really let her know who's the boss next time. IF there's one. This is like first time I've been back since like a few years ago. It seems that they probably changed management for the worst, because I have no idea how the Chinese cashier girl got that job!The food is nothing spectacular, the dim sum is probably only so so, the prices are average but some dishes are on the expensive side.If you're in town and want a truly pleasant Chinese dining experience, try Fung's Kitchen. The best tasting, healthiest Chinese food in Houston. Plus their hostesses and cashier won't give you dirty looks, when you ask them why lunch specials don't come with egg rolls.LET ME RE-EMPASIZE THEY TREATED ME LIKE A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN!
